According to Mokpo Coast Guard Station (Chief Jung Young-jin) on the 16th, at around 10:42 PM on the 15th, a report was received from a health center that resident A (67 years old) living on Okdo Island, Haewi-myeon, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, was showing symptoms of respiratory distress and chills, making it difficult to move and requiring hospital transfer.
The Coast Guard dispatched the Sinan Police Substation coastal rescue boat, boarded the patient and guardian at Okdo pier while complying with COVID-19 response procedures, and transported them to Namgang pier on Amtaedo Island, arriving at 12:23 AM, where they handed over the patient to the waiting 119 ambulance team.
It was reported that Mr. A had no specific symptoms related to COVID-19 such as cough or fever, and was transferred to Mokpo Hankook Hospital for detailed examination and is currently undergoing treatment.
