Apple to Produce 230 Million Units Next Year... Over 20% Increase from This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Apple will increase iPhone production by 30% in the first half of next year.
According to Nihon Keizai on the 15th (local time), Apple plans to produce 96 million iPhones next year. This production volume includes the iPhone 12 series, iPhone 11, and iPhone SE.
Apple is reportedly planning to produce up to 230 million iPhones in 2021. The total production volume next year will be 20% higher than this year.
Among the iPhone 12 series, demand for the iPhone 12 has been much higher than expected, while demand for the iPhone 12 mini has been sluggish.
Daniel Ives, a Wedbush Securities analyst, described Apple's plan to increase iPhone production next year as a "positive signal for iPhone 12 demand," explaining that "considering Apple's delivery schedule, pre-orders have been more than twice those of the iPhone 11."
