The ‘2020 Seoul Visiting Health Care Project Performance Sharing Conference’ held this year was attended by about 800 professionals including city and district employees and visiting nurses through a non-face-to-face online format.
At the event, the achievements of the Seoul Visiting Health Care Project were shared, awards were given to excellent institutions and meritorious persons, and the results of capacity-building projects for visiting professionals and future directions were discussed.
Since 2019, the district has been the first in Seoul to assign three visiting nurses to each of the 14 neighborhood community centers. Targeting seniors aged 65 and over and health-vulnerable groups, it provided resident-centered, meticulous visiting health care services, encouraging healthy lifestyle practices among residents, improving health conditions, enhancing health management capabilities, and contributing to the extension of healthy life expectancy.
In response to COVID-19, the district strengthened telephone monitoring for patients with severe chronic diseases to closely manage their health status.
In particular, the ‘Visiting Health Safe Doctor’ project, recognized as an excellent case in Dobong-gu, involved visiting doctors and nurses visiting homes monthly to provide medical treatment and health care as a one-stop service.
Additionally, by operating the ‘Health Connection Center’ continuously within the 14 neighborhood community centers, the district contributed to efficient chronic disease management based on the needs of high-risk chronic disease patients by discovering and registering them nearby, and providing counseling and education.
