Mokpo Coast Guard, 1010 Ship Selected as Best and P-96 Patrol Boat as Excellent Vessel

According to the Mokpo Coast Guard Station on the 15th, on the morning of the 14th, with only a minimal number of personnel attending due to the spread of COVID-19, plaques and encouragement prizes were awarded to the captain of the 1010 vessel (Lieutenant Commander Lee Kyung-doo) and the captain of the P-96 vessel (Lieutenant Jung Sung-woo), who were selected as the Best Vessel and Excellent Vessel.
Under the supervision of the West Sea Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, a judging committee selected the patrol vessels and substations with high scores based on quantitative objective indicators across five categories: major patrol achievements this year, self-directed work, in-house training, vessel sortie rate, and others, covering 24 substations from five Coast Guard stations (Gunsan, Buan, Mokpo, Wando, Yeosu).
The 1010 vessel, selected as the Best Vessel, demonstrated outstanding performance this year in all areas including maritime accident response, search and rescue, emergency patient transport, foreign vessel response, and enforcement duties.
Additionally, the P-96 vessel earned the honor of Excellent Vessel by achieving high results in key areas such as search and rescue, emergency patient transport, and enforcement duties.
Lieutenant Commander Lee Kyung-doo, captain of the 1010 vessel, selected as the Best Vessel, said, "I want to share this joy with my colleagues who have endured hardships together," and added, "I will continue to strive through consistent maritime training and capacity building so that the public can use the sea safely and comfortably."
Lieutenant Jung Sung-woo, captain of the P-96 vessel, honored as the Excellent Vessel, stated, "I will continue to prioritize the people and make relentless efforts to create a safe sea and develop the Coast Guard."
