Naver Blog Reaches 28 Million Posts Over 17 Years... Total of 2.1 Billion Articles
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver released the '2020 Blog Report' on the 15th, which allows users to review 17 years of trends in its blog service.
According to Naver, since its launch in 2003, 28 million blogs have been created, equivalent to half of South Korea's population. A total of 2.143 billion posts have been uploaded on Naver Blogs.
There are 60 million draft posts pending publication, and Naver stated that 7 pieces of content are created every second through blogs.
The first blog post on Naver Blog was '[Matrix2] See you this week~~~ㅋㅋㅋ' posted on May 20, 2003. The most popular nickname used over 17 years is 'ㅇㅇ', used by a total of 27,755 people.
Looking at blog users by age group, those in their 20s accounted for the largest share at 34.6%, followed by those in their 30s at 28.5%. By gender, females (62%) outnumbered males (38%).
The day with the most blog posts is Monday, while Saturday sees the least activity.
This year, the most frequently used blog topics by users were restaurants, daily life, and fashion & beauty, in that order. Popular topics in previous years such as world travel and domestic travel decreased due to the COVID-19 issue.
