Audi Volkswagen Korea's 'Secret Santa' Sharing Activity for Children in Cheorwon Region
Switching to the 'Secret Santa and Jingle Bell' Concept
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Audi Volkswagen Korea announced on the 15th that it will deliver Christmas gifts to 137 children living in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province, which was declared a special disaster area due to heavy rains last summer.
Now in its third year, the 'Secret Santa' sharing activity is one of Audi Volkswagen Korea's representative community contribution initiatives, carried out in partnership with the nonprofit organization Korea Social Investment. Through a 1:1 matching fund between employees and the company, it supports kindergarten and lower-grade elementary school children in need of social care to nurture their dreams.
Especially this year, due to the government's social distancing level 2.5 measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the event has been converted to a non-face-to-face format under the concept of 'Secret Santa and Jingle Bell.' Christmas gifts consisting of meal replacements and snacks will be delivered to local children's centers under the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Staff at the children's centers will transform into Santas, ring jingle bells, and deliver the gifts individually to the children.
This sharing activity was made possible by the participation of Audi Volkswagen Korea employees. The gift boxes for the children were prepared through voluntary fundraising by employees combined with the company's matching fund. Christmas cards containing messages of encouragement from employees were also delivered to the children.
