Pukyong National University Hosts the 2nd Artificial Intelligence and Future Convergence Technology Workshop

The workshop was hosted by the College of Engineering at Pukyong National University (Dean Son Jeong-hyun) and jointly organized by the Korea Multimedia Society (President Kim Chi-yong), Pukyong National University AI Research Institute (Director Kwon Ki-ryong), and the AI Convergence Education Research Group (Director Jeong Wan-young).
This event, held to broaden understanding of artificial intelligence, expand the research base, and foster an interdisciplinary research atmosphere, was conducted online, and all lectures were live-streamed on YouTube.
In the first part of the workshop, Professor Kwon In-so from KAIST's Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering gave a lecture titled "Deep Learning Computer Vision: Challenges and Limitations," and Professor Lee Seok-hwan from Dong-A University's Department of Computer Engineering spoke about methods and trends in "Artificial Intelligence Security Technology."
In the second part, Professor Choi Ye-jin from the University of Washington's Department of Computer Engineering lectured on "Deep Commonsense Intelligence," and Kim Ju-min, head of LG Electronics AI Research Center, spoke about "Smart Homes in the AI Era."
In the third part, Professor Kim Tak-gon from KAIST's Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering discussed "Dynamic System Modeling Using Machine Learning," and Ha Jung-woo, head of NAVER AI Research Center, gave a lecture titled "NAVER AI Embedded in Daily Life and the Future."

Kwon Ki-ryong, director of the AI Research Institute and chair of the workshop, said, "Despite the difficulties of non-face-to-face situations due to COVID-19, many participants gained opportunities for academic exchange by attending online lectures," adding, "Our AI Research Institute plans to hold AI workshops annually to further strengthen R&D capabilities in the AI field in the southeastern region and expand opportunities to connect AI application technologies with industries."
