3 Companies Agree on Cost-Sharing Ratio of 200 Million KRW for Landslide Damage on Boundary Slopes
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] On the 10th, Lee Gang-deok, mayor of Pohang City, visited the damage restoration sites of three companies affected by the typhoon last September ahead of the year-end and New Year holidays to encourage the workers and listen to the difficulties faced by the companies on site.
On that day, Mayor Lee toured the damage restoration sites of Chosun Refractory Co., Ltd., SeAH Special Steel Co., Ltd., and Dongil Industry Co., Ltd., located in Pohang Steel Complex 1.
Regarding the damage caused by Typhoon Haishen, the 10th typhoon, on September 7, which caused soil erosion on the boundary slopes of the three companies, Pohang City mediated four emergency countermeasure meetings and supported a total of 25 million KRW for emergency restoration, including construction heavy equipment and daily labor wages.
The three companies also agreed on promptly ordering permanent restoration work to minimize further typhoon damage, and after agreeing on the company cost-sharing ratio for the total construction cost of 200 million KRW, they started the restoration work on October 21 and completed it only this month.
To commemorate the meaning of harmony and coexistence, the three companies planted three crape myrtle trees, azalea shrubs, and erected a commemorative stone.
