Report of Suspected Highly Pathogenic AI Case at Jangseong Jongori Farm in Jeonnam
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for Avian Influenza announced on the 10th that a suspected case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) was reported at a duck farm (approximately 8,000 ducks) located in Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do.
On the same day, after receiving a suspicion report from the farm regarding a decrease in egg-laying rate, a rapid test was conducted by the Jeollanam-do Animal Hygiene Laboratory, which confirmed a positive result. A detailed examination is currently underway. The determination of high pathogenicity is expected within 1 to 3 days.
