Hyundai Motor Company Unveils Teaser Video for Next-Generation Electric Vehicle 'Ioniq 5'
'New Horizons of EV' 30-Second Video
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Hyundai Motor Company released a teaser video for its first dedicated electric vehicle, the Ioniq 5, scheduled for launch early next year, on the 10th.
On this day, Hyundai unveiled a 30-second video titled "A New Horizon for EV" on its global website. The video draws inspiration from the yet-to-be-revealed design of the Ioniq 5, depicting a white space filled with pixels and dots representing the next generation of electric vehicles.
The teaser video stimulates curiosity by explaining the advantages of the Ioniq 5 in three parts. First, "Extra Power for Life" highlights the newly developed V2L (Vehicle to Load) technology. V2L is a technology that can be used to operate electronic devices or charge other electric vehicles during outdoor activities. It can supply 3.5kW of power, which is greater than the 3kW supply contract power of a typical household, and depending on the battery capacity, it can operate a 17-pyeong air conditioner and a 55-inch TV simultaneously for 24 hours.
Second, "Extra Time for You" emphasizes the fast charging speed of the Ioniq 5. The Ioniq 5 is the world's first to apply an 800V high-voltage charging system and a 400V·800V multi-fast charging system to reduce charging time. Using an ultra-fast charger, it can charge up to 80% within 18 minutes.
Lastly, "Extraordinary Experiences" hints at the characteristics of next-generation electric vehicles, such as a flat floor and improved interior space utilization, enabled by the dedicated platform.
