Kia Sorento Achieves 'Euro NCAP Top Rating' in European New Car Safety Assessment
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] Kia Motors' Sorento has received the highest safety rating from Euro NCAP.
Kia Motors announced on the 10th that the Sorento, which was sequentially launched in the European region starting in September, received the highest rating of 'five stars' on the 9th (local time) from Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme), Europe's new car safety evaluation program.
The Sorento achieved the highest rating in the comprehensive evaluation of four assessment categories: ▲Adult Occupant Protection ▲Child Occupant Protection ▲Pedestrian Protection ▲Safety Assist Systems, recognizing its outstanding safety performance.
Euro NCAP positively evaluated the Sorento for not only effectively protecting occupants' bodies in the side barrier test but also maintaining a stable passenger compartment during collisions.
The Sorento received high scores in child occupant protection and demonstrated excellent occupant protection performance in rear impact tests on seats and headrests. Additionally, the front collision avoidance assist system, which is equipped as standard, was highly rated in the safety assist systems category.
