Hyundai Motor Group Recruiting Mentors for the 8th Class of University Student Volunteer Program H-Jump School
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 10th that it is recruiting 8th generation university student mentors for the 'University Student Education Volunteer Group H-Jump School' in the Seoul, Daegu, Sangju, Busan, Gangwon, Ulsan, and Incheon areas.
H-Jump School, a university student education volunteer group hosted by Hyundai Motor Group in collaboration with Kangwon National University, Kyungpook National University, Pusan National University, Inha University, the Jump Corporation, and the Community Chest of Korea, selects university student mentors to support education for underprivileged youth. Selected university student mentors receive mentoring from Hyundai Motor Group employees and social professionals, as well as scholarships, as part of a social contribution program to nurture future talents.
Since its first generation in 2013, Hyundai Motor Group's university student education volunteer group H-Jump School has selected 1,182 university student mentors over eight years and provided education to 4,149 low-income or multicultural family youths through a total of approximately 1,037,000 hours of volunteer teaching.
In particular, due to the COVID-19 pandemic making face-to-face mentoring impossible, the program quickly introduced online mentoring at the start of the 7th generation project this year, continuing to provide learning guidance and emotional support to youth without interruption.
As a result, over the past eight years, the university student education volunteer group H-Jump School has created economic and social value amounting to 22.8 billion KRW, covering necessary youth education expenses, university student career education costs, instructor hiring fees, and more to help close the education gap.
In August, the program successfully expanded overseas by launching the first generation of 'Hyundai Jump School' locally in Hanoi, Vietnam, marking a successful overseas expansion of the domestic business model.
Building on these achievements, the 8th generation program to be operated next year will add Incheon to the existing target regions (Seoul, Daegu, Sangju, Busan, Gangwon, Ulsan) and expand its scale to include ▲350 education volunteers ▲1,400 youth beneficiaries ▲a total of 75 supported child centers and schools, thereby providing more university students and youth with learning opportunities.
The 350 university students selected through this 8th generation mentor recruitment will provide personalized education across all subjects and career mentoring to youth from various backgrounds for about 10 months, from March to December next year.
Hyundai Motor Group will offer them benefits such as ▲a scholarship of 3 million KRW ▲one-on-one mentoring with the Jump School social mentor group composed of about 300 experts from corporate law, medical fields, and more ▲various educational programs in leadership, humanities, entrepreneurship, and other fields ▲and a 2-day, 1-night camp involving underprivileged youth and Jump School mentors.
Current students and those planning to take a leave of absence from universities located in Seoul, Ulsan, and the metropolitan area, as well as students enrolled at Kangwon National University, Kyungpook National University, Pusan National University, and Inha University, are all eligible to apply.
