[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu announced that on the 27th of last month, employees of Unid (CEO Jeong Eui-seung) and Unid Global Sangsa (CEO Lee Jong-tak) visited the Seongbuk-dong Community Service Center and held an event donating 77 winter food packages (white rice, tuna sets) and 100 bedding items for low-income households.
This company has been delivering briquettes to vulnerable groups during cold waves for the past 10 years, and since last year, they have been practicing sharing in Seongbuk-dong. Unfortunately, this year, due to recommendations to refrain from external gatherings to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the briquettes were replaced with sponsorship items.
Unid is a company that consistently practices the spirit of sharing; last year, it donated 100 million won for the recovery from the wildfires in Gangwon Province and has been supporting Seongmojae Dream Hill (located in Sanggye-dong) for over 15 years through a matching grant method with employees every month.
Also, it is known to actively participate in various activities such as supporting multicultural families in local business sites.
A company representative said, “Many companies are struggling due to COVID-19, so we thought community support might have decreased. We hope this can help vulnerable groups even a little, and we pray that the local economy recovers quickly so that the previously constrained helping hands can start again.”
