Jeonnam Province Rated 4th Grade in 'Anti-Corruption Survey' by Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission... Falls to Lower Rank in One Year
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] In the '2020 Public Institution Integrity' survey conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, Jeonnam Province received an overall integrity rating of Grade 4. This is a drop of two grades compared to last year.
On the 9th, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission evaluated and announced the overall integrity by reflecting the survey results from 580 public institutions nationwide, which included responses from citizens with experience working with public institutions (external integrity) and public officials within the institutions (internal integrity), as well as the occurrence status of corruption cases.
Jeonnam Province received Grade 4 for both external and internal integrity, dropping two grades and one grade respectively compared to last year.
The overall integrity score is calculated by taking the weighted average of external and internal integrity scores and then reflecting deductions based on the occurrence of corruption cases.
Jeonnam Province had risen to a high rank by receiving Grade 2 last year, but fell to Grade 4 within a year, dropping to a lower rank.
In city-level evaluations, Mokpo received Grade 2, Naju Grade 3, Gwangyang and Yeosu Grade 4, and Suncheon Grade 5.

In county-level evaluations, Gurye, Damyang, Boseong, Jindo, and Haenam received Grade 2; Gokseong, Yeongam, Jangseong, and Hwasun Grade 3; Gangjin, Muan, Yeonggwang, Wando, Jangheung, and Hampyeong Grade 4; and Goheung and Sinan Grade 5.
