Utilizing Camping Cars to Provide Basic Convenience Facilities at Urban Construction Sites, Efforts to Improve Workers' Basic Human Rights Acknowledged
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seoul Facilities Corporation (Chairman Jo Seong-il) received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award at the ‘2020 Government Innovation Best Practices Integrated Competition’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The competition, held last month to discover and spread excellent government innovation cases, saw Seoul Facilities Corporation participate in the public service sector with the theme ‘Introduction of Mobile Convenience Facilities (Camping Car) at Construction Sites,’ winning the ministerial award.
The corporation was recognized for contributing to the improvement of basic human rights of workers by introducing the country’s first mobile convenience facilities (camping cars) at harsh construction sites at the end of last year.
The ‘Mobile Convenience Facilities (Camping Car) at Construction Sites’ utilize camping cars as basic convenience facilities (toilets, washrooms, changing rooms, rest areas, etc.) that are difficult to install at small-scale urban construction sites. Starting this year, this has been disseminated and expanded to related organizations including Seoul City.
Jo Seong-il, Chairman of Seoul Facilities Corporation, said, “This award is especially meaningful as it recognizes our efforts to improve the human rights of workers working in harsh environments,” adding, “We will continue to strive to provide valuable public services to citizens based on interest and respect for workers’ working conditions.”

Seoul Facilities Corporation has been selected as a ‘Grade A (Highest)’ institution for two consecutive years in the 2020 local public enterprise management evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and has also received awards such as the ‘2020 Best Practice Award for Proactive Administration’ and the ‘2020 Korea Electrical Safety Award Prime Minister’s Commendation.’
