On the 8th, Son appeared on her YouTube channel 'Son Hye-won TV' for a live broadcast titled 'Farewell Son Hyun,' which lasted about 58 minutes.
Wearing a black top, Son opened by saying, "I received news from the Philippines that my younger brother Son Hyun, who had been at the center of controversy, committed suicide."
She added, "There are many stories. Conservative media, and even some YouTubers who use their real names, say that I benefited the most from this suicide," and continued, "If this had happened to my brother somewhere other than the Philippines, wouldn't the prosecution have contacted me?"

She continued, "Son Hyun started lying from the 5th grade," and said, "He couldn't get into the middle school he wanted, so he was retaking the exam when the no-exam system was introduced. I think his life started to go off track from then. I believe he stopped studying from that point."
She said, "In the end, he couldn't go to college, and our eldest brother, who ran a travel agency, took Son Hyun, who was a high school graduate but smart and proactive, to work for him," adding, "But at some point, Son Hyun started gambling. It seems he began gambling seriously after his second marriage."
Son expressed, "It's sad that my brother lived a short life. Seeing his ex-wife in Mokpo cry so sorrowfully, I thought it was fortunate that there was someone who cried for Son Hyun," and added, "Thinking of his grieving ex-wife, I wish he had lived a bit more honestly... I think he hastened his own fate by spreading lies."
She said, "My brother lent money to gamblers in the Philippines and borrowed money from dangerous people. Afterwards, he might have been tortured in a hotel when asked to repay the money. An investigation request has been filed."
At the end of the broadcast, she added, "My brother passed away one day short of a year since our mother died. I wonder if he will find peace by being with her."
Former lawmaker Son Hye-won, who has been on trial for purchasing real estate under a borrowed name after preemptively learning about Mokpo's 'urban regeneration project plan,' is leaving the courthouse after the first trial sentencing hearing held at the Southern District Court on August 12.

Son's younger brother was found dead on the morning of the 4th (local time) around 10:30 a.m. in a hotel room in Angeles City, Pampanga Province, northern Philippines.
After allegations of real estate speculation involving his sister, former lawmaker Son, Son Hyun raised additional allegations against her in a press conference last February.
At that time, he said, "In addition to the 24 cases of real estate under false names revealed so far, I clearly state that there are 7 more," and added, "If this is not true, you can sue me."

Meanwhile, former lawmaker Son was indicted on charges of using non-public information to purchase real estate in Mokpo City under false names and having others purchase it as well (violations of the Anti-Corruption Act and Real Estate Real Name Act). She was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison in the first trial in August. However, Son appealed, stating, "It is difficult to accept the guilty verdict based on the prosecution's one-sided claims."
