Naju-si to Conduct 'Non-face-to-face Democratic Citizenship Education' Starting from the 14th
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 9th that from the 14th to the 21st, it will post a democratic citizenship education video on its YouTube channel under the theme "Asking the Old Future of Naju," highlighting Naju's history, major projects of public institutions, and social contribution activities.
This education program was planned to enhance civil society's understanding of various industrial sectors of public institutions such as agriculture and life sciences, culture and arts, information and communication, and energy, with the aim of realizing a symbiotic community between the innovation city and the old downtown area.
The educational videos consist of a total of 13 sessions, starting with a lecture titled "Naju Before and After the Relocation of the Innovation City" by curator Yoon Ji-hyang, and include representatives from public institutions in various industries such as the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, Korea Creative Content Agency, Arts Council Korea, Korea Post Information Center, and Korea Internet & Security Agency.
The labor unions of public institutions relocated to Gwangju-Jeonnam Innovation City will cover diagnoses and proposals regarding the current residential conditions in the Naju area, including education, medical care, and transportation, as well as reviews of the lectures.
The videos will be available sequentially on Naju City's official YouTube channel starting from the 14th.

Mayor Kang In-gyu said, "In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we planned a non-face-to-face democratic citizenship education that anyone can safely and conveniently participate in," adding, "We hope this will be an opportunity for the old downtown and the innovation city to coexist and harmonize through a deep understanding of the relocated public institutions."
