"Tencent Expands Its Reach to Capture the Korean Cloud Market"
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Tencent announced on the 9th that it will open its second domestic cloud availability zone (data center).
Tencent Cloud operates 58 availability zones across 27 regions worldwide.
Poshu Young, Senior Vice President of Tencent Cloud International, said at the 'Tencent Cloud Day 2020' event, "As commerce companies expand their channel reach online, demand for 'digital infrastructure' is increasing," adding, "Tencent Cloud's goal is to help Korean customers build robust and secure digital infrastructure and support their long-term growth."
Tencent plans to double the number of domestic employees to grow its cloud business. It provides cloud services for various domestic industries including gaming, e-commerce, live streaming, education, and manufacturing.
Tencent Cloud has been cooperating with domestic partners Hyosung ITX, Megazone Cloud, and Cap Cloud, providing services to companies such as Nexon, Netmarble, and Gravity since 2019.
Tencent Cloud has obtained over 20 international certifications related to user privacy protection, data security, and various industry standards. Tencent Cloud has also received Korea's Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification.
