Daejeon Social Venture Specialized Street Development Secures 2.45 Billion KRW in National Funding
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Daejeon social venture specialized street creation project has gained momentum with the securing of national funding.
Daejeon City announced on the 9th that it has increased and secured an additional 2.45 billion KRW in national funds for next year's regional innovation startup activation project, which is part of the social venture specialized street creation project.
According to the city, the social venture specialized street will be created centered around the old downtown area of Jungang-ro. The city has completed the first phase by establishing a social venture startup platform.
Following the opening of the Daejeon Social Venture Campus in Daeheung-dong last May, the Daejeon Startup Hub was completed in the former Chungnam Provincial Office building in March this year.
Currently, 25 promising startup companies (9 in the campus and 16 in the startup hub) are residing here, receiving commercialization funds and consulting support.
The second phase project to be promoted next year with national funding will focus on establishing a business growth platform (Post-BI) of approximately 3,000㎡ in the Jungang-ro area of Jung-gu.
The growth platform is planned to include social venture office spaces as well as collaboration and exchange spaces. The city plans to create user-centered customized spaces by reflecting the opinions of the startup field.
