CJ Successfully Concludes '2020 CJ O Ventures Demo Day'
Open Innovation Platform 'Obentus' Program Part
Live YouTube Online Broadcast on the Afternoon of the 8th
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] CJ announced on the 9th that the '2020 CJ O!VentUs Demo Day,' held via YouTube online live streaming on the 8th, was successfully concluded.
CJ hosted this event in collaboration with the Seoul Creative Economy Innovation Center to secure differentiated future innovative technologies and support the growth of startups and the activation of the industrial ecosystem. 'O!VentUs' is an open innovation platform where CJ Group discovers and supports startups with excellent technological capabilities and business models together with its major affiliates.
This Demo Day was the final event of the 'O!VentUs' program, which had been conducted for about 10 months since last March, and was held via YouTube live streaming. Sixteen startups participating in O!VentUs 2nd and 3rd cohorts presented their achievements and discussed future investment possibilities with judges from venture capital (VC) and accelerators (AC).
Throughout this year, the 16 startups and CJ participated in programs to jointly develop technology and business and verify business feasibility, exploring possibilities for future collaboration.
In particular, CJ Freshway signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 2nd with Weidaehan Sangsa and Delivery Lab, selected in the 'Food Tech' category of O!VentUs 2nd cohort, for joint development of an ingredient ordering system and big data solutions. CJ Freshway plans to provide accumulated data and infrastructure to lay the foundation for startup growth while striving to create a stable business environment for food service entrepreneurs and others.

Meanwhile, at the Demo Day, Sage Research, which won the Best Innovation Award, received a prize of 10 million KRW, and Delivery Lab and Featuring, winners of the Innovation Award, each received 5 million KRW as prize money.
