Park Mundeok, Chairman of HiteJinro, Eldest Son and Second Son Promoted to President and Vice President Respectively
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Park Tae-young, the eldest son of Park Moon-duk, Chairman of Hite Jinro, has been promoted to president, and his younger brother Park Jae-hong has been promoted to vice president.
Hite Jinro announced on the 8th that it has promoted nine executives, including Park Tae-young to president. The company explained that this personnel move follows the successful market establishment of Terra and Jinro Is Back launched last year, turning the beer division’s decade-long deficit into a surplus, and expanding its dominant market position in the soju market.
Park Tae-young, who has led organizational change and innovation over the past five years as head of the management strategy division and in sales and marketing, was promoted to president. Park Jae-hong, who oversees overseas business and is leading the globalization of soju, was promoted to vice president. In addition, one executive director, two managing directors, and four deputy managing directors were promoted in production, sales, and management/marketing divisions.
Hite Jinro stated, "Through this personnel move, Hite Jinro will solidify its position as the number one comprehensive beer and soju company in Korea and continue to grow as a leading global liquor company representing Korea."
