Lotte Construction Wins Grand Prize at 'Web Award Korea 2020'
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Lotte Construction announced on the 8th that it won the Grand Prize for Mobile Web and the Excellence Award in the Construction Brand category at the ‘Web Award Korea 2020’ hosted by the Korea Internet Professionals Association with the renewed Lotte Castle website launched last October.
Now in its 17th year, Web Award Korea is the most prestigious web evaluation awards ceremony in Korea. A panel of over 3,800 judges evaluates 447 newly built or renewed websites throughout the year based on 18 criteria across six categories including visual design, UI design, technology, content, service, and marketing, selecting and awarding the most outstanding websites.
Lotte Construction submitted the newly revamped Lotte Castle website and achieved a double crown by winning the Grand Prize for Mobile Web and the Excellence Award in the Construction Brand category. This is the first time an apartment brand has won the Grand Prize at Web Award Korea, as the Grand Prize has mostly been awarded to brands sensitive to trends such as automobile, card, and financial companies.
The Lotte Castle website received high evaluations for its luxurious design, completeness of UX (user experience), and mobile usability. A web expert participating as a judge stated, “Compared to other construction companies and apartment brand websites, it was highly rated by the judging panel overall for its sophisticated and complete design, UX, and content composition,” adding, “The luxurious brand image was well expressed through the website.”

A Lotte Construction official said, “We aimed to provide optimized services for each device including mobile based on big data analysis of visitor usage patterns on the Lotte Castle website,” and added, “The detailed design and UX elements, which are not easily noticeable, were intended to embody luxury and sophistication, which seems to have resulted in good outcomes at Web Award Korea.”
