Samsung C&T Announces Executive Appointments... O Se-cheol Promoted to New CEO
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] On the 8th, Samsung C&T announced its 2021 regular executive promotion, appointing Oh Se-cheol, Vice President of the Construction Division, as CEO, and Han Seung-hwan, Vice President of Samsung Human Resources Development Institute, as CEO of the Resort Division and Samsung Welstory.
Samsung C&T stated that this executive promotion "realized change and innovation by boldly appointing field experts with core experience and capabilities required in each division as CEOs simultaneously with their promotion to president."
President Oh is a field expert who has experience at construction sites in Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, and served as the head of Global Procurement before leading the Plant Business Division since December 2015. Samsung C&T expects President Oh to strengthen technology and project capabilities in architecture, civil engineering, plant, and housing sectors.
President Han has extensive experience in Samsung C&T's management planning team, SDS HR team leader, and Smart Town business division head, and has been serving as the deputy director of the Human Resources Development Institute since December 2015. Based on his rich know-how in talent development and management, he is expected to lead growth in the service-oriented Resort Division.
