Women Entrepreneurs Association Elects Lee Jeonghan, CEO of BY Industry, as Senior Vice Chairman

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association (Chairperson Jeong Yoon-sook, hereinafter referred to as KWEA) announced on the 7th that it held a regular board meeting at the KWEA headquarters located in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul, and elected Lee Jeong-han, CEO of BY Industry, as the Senior Vice President.
CEO Lee, elected as Senior Vice President, is the head of BY Industry, specializing in the distribution and processing of metal sheets. He joined KWEA in 2003 and served as the head of the Gyeonggi branch of KWEA for three years starting in 2010. His main pledges include ▲enhancing the status of KWEA ▲expanding policies to support market access for women-owned businesses ▲securing financial support through improved accessibility to financial institutions ▲establishing institutional measures to resolve issues faced by women-owned businesses ▲strengthening information support functions through the KWEA network.
According to the association’s bylaws, the elected Senior Vice President Lee will be approved as Senior Vice President at the regular general meeting in January next year and will be recommended as the sole candidate for Chairperson at the extraordinary general meeting held at the end of next year.

KWEA is the only statutory women’s economic organization in Korea, established in 1999 under the "Act on Support for Female-owned Businesses." Representing approximately 2.66 million women-owned businesses and about 2,700 member companies, it carries out various projects to promote the interests of women entrepreneurs and support women-owned business activities, including the women-owned business certification system, market access support, start-up funds for female heads of households, and job creation for women-owned businesses.
