Gyeongnam 2021 Port Project National Budget, 29.8 Billion KRW Increase from This Year
Securing Detailed Design Costs for Jangseungpo Port South Breakwater Construction Project Achieves Major Success
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the 2nd, Gyeongnam Province secured 48.7 billion KRW in national funds related to port projects in the 2021 government budget, which passed the National Assembly plenary session. This amount is 29.8 billion KRW more than this year's national funds of 18.7 billion KRW.
Through this secured national fund, port projects such as the Tongyeong Port Gangguan (Inner Bay) waterfront facility maintenance construction, which had been stagnant due to budget shortages, are expected to find a breakthrough and gain momentum in project promotion.
The main projects of the secured budget include 10.4 billion KRW for the creation of Tongyeong Port Gangguan (Inner Bay) waterfront facilities, 6.5 billion KRW for the expansion of Donghomam oil wharf and quay, 4.7 billion KRW for the maintenance of Tongyeong Port passenger ship terminal, 4 billion KRW for Jangseungpo Port development project, 3.6 billion KRW for the extension of Jinhae Port Sokcheon Port breakwater, and 12.3 billion KRW for seismic performance reinforcement construction of locally managed ports.
In particular, out of the 2.5 billion KRW budget required for the detailed design of the Jangseungpo Port South Breakwater construction project, 1.1 billion KRW has been secured, with plans to construct a new breakwater in the future.
In the case of Jangseungpo Port, due to its characteristic as a port directly connected to the open sea, damage caused by waves and swells has continuously occurred.
It is expected to contribute to protecting the property and safety of local residents by strengthening the ship refuge function.
