[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for Avian Influenza announced on the 7th that it will issue a temporary movement restriction order following the occurrence of a suspected case of highly pathogenic avian influenza at a laying hen farm in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province.
The temporary movement restriction order applies to poultry farms, livestock facilities (slaughterhouses, feed factories, etc.), and livestock vehicles within Gyeonggi Province, and will be in effect for 48 hours from 5 a.m. on the 7th to 5 a.m. on December 9.
During the temporary movement restriction period, the Central Inspection Team (10 teams, 20 members) will be formed to monitor compliance with the order, and comprehensive disinfection will be conducted on poultry farms, livestock facilities and vehicles, and migratory bird habitats (including small streams and reservoirs).

Violations of the temporary movement restriction order may result in imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to 10 million won in accordance with Article 57 of the Livestock Infectious Disease Control Act.
