23 Dead, 1 Survives Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in Chongqing Coal Mine, China

According to Chinese media on the 6th, following a carbon monoxide leak accident at the Diao Suidong coal mine in Chongqing around 5 p.m. on the 4th, rescue operations found only one survivor while the other 23 were found dead. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
The coal mine was supposed to have been closed two months ago, but the accident occurred during the dismantling of underground equipment.
