According to the Busan Police Agency on the 6th, at around 3:51 PM on the 5th, a Sorento vehicle crashed into a road structure and stopped in front of the median barrier about 3 km past the Unyang Rest Area on the Gyeongbu Expressway.
After the accident, the driver in his 30s, Mr. A, came out to manage the situation and was making a call to the insurance company in front of his vehicle when a secondary accident occurred.
A Sonata passenger car approaching from behind collided with the stationary Sorento, causing the Sorento to move and trapping Mr. A’s leg between the Sorento and the median barrier.
Other drivers who witnessed the accident stopped their vehicles on the shoulder and rushed to rescue Mr. A.
According to the police, about ten drivers from seven vehicles simultaneously ran over and lifted the Sorento to rescue Mr. A. One of the drivers involved in the rescue was a nurse working at an orthopedic clinic and provided emergency care at the scene. Mr. A was then transported to the hospital.
