The Korea Distribution Science Association held the '2020 2nd Sangjeon Distribution Academic Awards Ceremony' at 4 p.m. on the 3rd at SKY31 in Lotte World Tower, Jamsil, selecting five recipients including Professor Lim Youngkyun of Kwangwoon University and awarding prize money and plaques. The grand prize winner received 30 million KRW, each excellence award winner received 15 million KRW, and the new scholar award winner received 10 million KRW.
The Sangjeon Distribution Academic Awards, supported by the Lotte Group, award a total prize of 85 million KRW to researchers who have contributed to the distribution field. The selection of recipients was entrusted to a seven-member judging committee composed of experts from academia and industry in Korea.
This year’s recipients include grand prize winner Professor Youngkyun Lim, excellence award (academic division) winners Professor Sangrin Han of Hanyang University and Professor Jooyoung Park of Soongsil University, excellence award (policy division) winner Professor Ikseong Kim of Dongduk Women’s University, and new scholar award winner Professor Jiyeon Kim of Taiwan Sun Yat-sen University.
Grand prize winner Professor Youngkyun Lim was highly evaluated for his significant contributions to the development of the distribution industry through in-depth academic research in the distribution field, nurturing distribution researchers via academic societies and scholarly activities, and insightful policy proposals.
Excellence award (academic division) winner Professor Sangrin Han published numerous papers for various academic studies related to the distribution field. He actively contributed to the development of the association through vigorous academic activities and played a major role in promoting scholarship in the distribution field.
Excellence award (academic division) winner Professor Jooyoung Park made efforts to realize a win-win distribution by discovering and disseminating policy alternatives to improve the realities of the distribution industry. He also made significant contributions to establishing the association as a representative academic society in the distribution field.
Excellence award (policy division) winner Professor Ikseong Kim is an expert in distribution policy and has been active as a policy expert in various institutions and ministries in the distribution field. His consistent academic and social contribution activities have greatly contributed to leading innovation in the distribution field. He served as the former president of the Korea Distribution Science Association and currently continues various activities as the honorary president.
New scholar award winner Professor Jiyeon Kim has shown potential as an emerging scholar by conducting numerous studies related to digital distribution, publishing four SSCI-level papers. Through this, she enhanced understanding of existing research related to offline environments and digital distribution and contributed to the dissemination of research.

Meanwhile, the Korea Distribution Science Association established the Sangjeon Distribution Academic Awards, named after the pen name 'Sangjeon' of the late Shin Kyuk-ho, honorary chairman of the Lotte Group, to honor his management philosophy and achievements in the distribution industry, and to discover, nurture, and encourage researchers who drive the development of the distribution industry.
