Suncheon City to Hold This Year's 'Small Business Suncheon Love Appreciation Sale' Online Festival
Online Suncheon Sohee Market to be held for 2 weeks from the 7th to the 18th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) will hold this year’s ‘Small Business Owner Suncheon Love Appreciation Sale’ event online for two weeks from the 7th to the 18th.
This event is a project promoted with national funding support after Suncheon City was selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s Korea Sale Festa public contest. It aims to revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and to express gratitude to both small business owners and Suncheon citizens through the ‘Suncheon Love Appreciation Sale.’
The sale event will be conducted online in a non-face-to-face manner in cooperation with small business-related organizations such as the Suncheon Small Business Owners Association, Suncheon One-Stop Support Center, traditional markets, and merchant associations. Incentives such as Onnuri gift certificates will be provided according to the amount of discounted purchases.
For the online event, 30 small business owner participating sellers have been selected, and various products from local small business owners and social economy enterprises, including food, miscellaneous goods, and daily necessities, will be sold online.
A Suncheon City official said, “As the local economy is shrinking due to COVID-19 and the consumption paradigm is changing, since the appreciation sale for small business owners and citizens is being held online for the first time, we hope it will play a virtuous cycle role in the local economy through good consumption.”
