At the meeting, instead of directly referring to Prosecutor General Yoon, Lee said, "Prosecutorial reform is an urgent task that cannot be abandoned or compromised," and added, "Although it has been frustrated many times over a long period, it is the people's aspiration that can no longer be frustrated," indirectly pointing out the issue.
He said, "If prosecutorial reform is delayed due to resistance from some or political strife, it would be unfortunate for both the people and the nation," and stated, "We will continue prosecutorial reform with firm determination. We earnestly ask the public to join us in this cause of prosecutorial reform."
Kim Tae-nyeon, floor leader of the Democratic Party, also briefly mentioned the situation at the Supreme Council meeting that day by saying, "We respect the court's judgment," instead of directly criticizing Prosecutor General Yoon.
