[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Samsung SDS appointed Hwang Sung-woo, President of Samsung Electronics, as the new CEO on the 2nd.
New CEO Hwang Sung-woo holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and previously served as a professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Korea University. He joined Samsung Electronics' Advanced Institute of Technology in 2012 and is an expert in the nano field, having served as head of the Nano Electronics Lab, director of the Device & System Research Center, and head of the Advanced Institute of Technology.
CEO Hwang was recognized for his experience leading various development projects including software at Samsung Electronics' Advanced Institute of Technology and his global capabilities. The company stated that based on CEO Hwang's internal and external networks, Samsung SDS will grow into a global IT solutions company.
