One more infection case related to a PC bang in Gimcheon and a family kimchi-making gathering in Mungyeong was also reported.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 2nd, as of midnight, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the region increased by 5 (4 domestic, 1 overseas) from the previous day, totaling 1,678.
Among the 4 community cases, in Gyeongju, 2 people who had contact with a confirmed case related to the Yeungnam University Gugak class in Gyeongsan developed symptoms during self-quarantine and tested positive. As a result, the number of confirmed cases related to Yeungnam University has increased to 18 since the 27th of last month.
One new confirmed case in Gimcheon was tested and confirmed positive while under self-quarantine after contact with a confirmed case related to a PC bang that first occurred on the 19th of last month. This brings the total number of infections linked to the Gimcheon PC bang cluster to 20 in Gimcheon alone.
In Mungyeong, after a woman in her 70s and her grandson in his 20s were confirmed positive while making family kimchi on the 17th of last month, one family member tested positive in a test before the self-quarantine release on the 1st.
One imported case was confirmed positive at the Gumi Public Health Center screening clinic after arriving at Incheon Airport from Europe on the 29th of last month.
