[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Following Up10tion's Bito, Go Gyeol also tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) with a high viral load.
On the 1st, the agency TOP Media stated, "As of the morning test results on December 1st, Up10tion member Go Gyeol tested positive, while Kun, Kyu-jin, Hwanhee, Sunyul, and Xiao tested negative."
They added, "Although members except for Bito and Go Gyeol tested negative, Up10tion members and their managers who had close contact will undergo self-quarantine for two weeks."
According to the agency, Up10tion's stylist and hair & makeup team, TOP Media employees and related staff, and artists all tested negative.
The agency plans to take follow-up measures as soon as the results come out for two staff members whose results are still pending.
The agency stated, "Go Gyeol will follow the guidelines of the quarantine authorities."
They also added, "We will thoroughly implement quarantine and follow-up measures according to government guidelines and do our best in future COVID-19 hygiene management and artist care. We apologize for causing concern."
Earlier, Bito was confirmed positive for COVID-19 the day before, causing an alert in the music industry.
Since Up10tion was active, many singers who appeared on MBC's 'Show! Music Core' and SBS's 'Inkigayo' underwent COVID-19 testing.
