Shinan-gun Jeonyeoknoeul Art Museum Hosts Baby Dongbaek Flower Painting Exhibition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jeonnam Sinan-gun announced on the 1st that it will hold a Baby Camellia Flower Painting Exhibition at the Evening Glow Art Museum from the 4th of this month until February 7th of next year.
The exhibition features 43 works by 13 artists, including last year's exhibitor Heo Joo, Kang Jong-ryeol, painter Wooam Park Yong-gyu, and woodblock print master Hong Seon-ung.
Most of the works are newly created for this exhibition, but it also includes cherished pieces by artists who have long painted camellias.
Under the theme "Angel's Garden on the Sea," this exhibition was planned to enhance the artistic value of the Baby Camellia through various works such as paintings, prints, photographs, and videos.
The work "Sandahwa," submitted by Hong Seon-ung, a traditional woodblock print researcher and widely known master of woodblock prints, is another name for the Baby Camellia.
Kim Eok, who has captured the Korean Peninsula from Hallasan to Baekdusan in woodblock prints through his "Land" series, presents new works of islands and Baby Camellias after newly encountering the unknown space of Sinan.
In particular, painter Wooam Park Yong-gyu, who played a significant role in establishing the Evening Glow Art Museum, has newly created and is exhibiting a large-scale work measuring 10 meters.
County Governor Park Woo-ryang said, "We prepared this exhibition to offer visitors a special memory of viewing 18,000 Baby Camellia trees and artworks blossomed with art in time for the blooming of the winter flower symbol, the Baby Camellia," and added, "We invite everyone to the Angel Island Bonsai Park, an untact tourism destination."
