Emart24 Conducts Sharing Event to Make 'Heekman Pockets' with Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation

Expanding Matching Grant Co-Donation Alongside Franchise Donations
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Emart24 announced on the 1st that it carried out sharing activities this year through making Hickman pouches for the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation.
By donating 10,000 KRW to the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation, donors can receive a Hickman pouch making kit, which they sew by hand and send back to the foundation.
Emart24 informed its employees about the purpose and method of making Hickman pouches, collected participation applications, and made and delivered 184 pouches. Employees voluntarily practiced sharing by donating to children with pediatric cancer and delivering the handmade pouches along with supportive messages.
For underprivileged children in need of comfort dolls, Emart24 purchased sock doll making kits, and employees who wished to participate made 165 dolls themselves and delivered them to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation.
This year, Emart24 delivered fresh food such as lunch boxes and gimbap for about 200 children monthly to two child welfare facilities in Gimcheon City. This sharing activity involved delivering food through Emart24’s fresh food manufacturers to child welfare facilities in Gimcheon City, with which a social contribution business agreement was signed last year. Due to COVID-19, direct visits were refrained from, focusing instead on food sharing.

This year, the company also expanded the Together Donation Campaign, which encourages franchise stores to participate in donations. The Together Donation Campaign operates on a matching grant basis, where Emart24 headquarters supports an amount equal to the donation made by the franchise stores to the donation recipients. Emart24, which supported donation activities of eight franchise stores last year, actively promoted the Together Donation Campaign to franchise stores this year, conducting 18 Together Donations through the campaign. Together with the participating store owners, Emart24 donated goods worth about 60 million KRW this year to multicultural families, small room counseling centers, and community welfare centers.
