Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member Kang Mun-seong Proposes 'Local Youth Job Creation' Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Kang Moon-seong, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly member (Democratic Party of Korea·Yeosu 2), announced on the 30th that he proposed a new project to strengthen local youth jobs at affiliated institutions in Jeonnam during the budget review of the Economic Energy Bureau for next year.
The new project plan includes active cooperation between leading affiliated institutions in the province such as Jeonnam Technopark, Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency, Creative Innovation Center, and Bio Industry Promotion Agency in education programs for local universities, specialized high schools, and reemployment of middle-aged workers to prevent the outflow of young population from Jeonnam.
Assemblyman Kang Moon-seong emphasized, “Local universities, specialized high schools, and Jeollanam-do affiliated institutions should prepare for the future 4th industrial revolution through agreements and provide information and technology in advance to help young people’s dreams and future plans.”
He added, “Although a considerable budget is invested annually to strengthen youth jobs, the results are insufficient, and about ten thousand young people leave the region each year, so urgent measures are needed,” and “The root industry promotion project is especially important in the eastern industrial complex area where industrial complexes are concentrated.”
Furthermore, he stated, “If good companies are fostered based on jobs and information capabilities, the outflow of young population can be fundamentally prevented,” and “Recently, the scope of the root industry, which forms the foundation of manufacturing, has expanded, and efforts are required to maintain a close cooperative system between schools and affiliated institutions by establishing shared infrastructure for new technologies and systems within the province.”
In particular, he proposed, “If educational institutions such as Chonnam National University Yeosu Campus, Han Young University, and specialized high schools establish an industrial cooperation system with the eastern industrial complex in Jeonnam, it is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy by not only preventing population outflow but also providing opportunities for young people to experience new technologies, inducing start-ups, and leading to job creation.”
