According to Jindo County on the 30th, due to serious complaints caused by illegal fishing, environmental pollution, and ecosystem destruction, it decided to remove illegal facilities through administrative enforcement.
The county issued prior warnings related to administrative enforcement of illegal facilities on inland waters so that illegal fishers could voluntarily remove them, and recently carried out administrative enforcement targeting facilities that were not removed.
The abandoned fishing gear generated from this administrative enforcement was moved to a marine waste storage site and processed to prevent inconvenience to residents, and fish caught in the gear were released back into the respective waters.
A representative from the Jindo County Fisheries Support Division said, “We will do our best to establish an autonomous inland water fishery order through illegal fishing guidance activities linked with inland water honorary monitors and administrative enforcement of illegal facilities.”
