The main role of the Gyeongnam Second Life Support Center (hereafter ‘Second Life Center’) is to provide systematic services necessary for the middle-aged generation to design a richer second chapter of life, including social contribution activities for retired personnel and reemployment support.
Support for social contribution activities is a project independently operated by the Second Life Center to utilize the social experience and expertise of the middle-aged generation, helping retired professionals from various fields contribute their talents back to society.
This year, the center operated groups such as ▲Small and Medium Enterprise Industrial Safety Support Team, ▲Multicultural Learning Support Team, ▲Middle-aged Busking Performance Team, and ▲Middle-aged Woodworking Volunteer Team. In addition, through club activity support projects, a total of 168 people participated across 8 clubs.
As the Second Life Center is a space where diverse people gather after retirement, it serves not only as an educational space but also as a place to form human networks.
Since the center provides convenience facilities such as a caf?, rest areas, and personal PC spaces for visitors, it can be used as a place for interaction to meet various people even without counseling or education sessions.
Park Deok-gon, director of the Second Life Center, said, “The Gyeongnam Second Life Support Center aims to enhance the quality of life for residents and strongly support the local middle-aged generation. Residents who are considering and preparing for their second life are always welcome to visit.”
