Popular Dish at Restaurant 'Hannam Bugeotguk' Now Available at Dongwon Jangbogi Market
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Dongwon Home Food's online grocery market The Banchan& announced on the 30th that it has launched two types of restaurant meal replacement (RMR) products (dried pollack soup, croaker pancake) that faithfully capture the popular menu of the famous Hannam-dong restaurant ‘Hannam Bugeotguk’.
RMR products are items that transform dishes from specialty restaurants into home meal replacements (HMR), allowing consumers to recreate the taste of dining out with simple preparation. Recently, with the increase in demand for home dining due to COVID-19 and the premiumization and segmentation of the HMR market, the RMR product category is gradually expanding.
Hannam Bugeotguk, located in Hannam-dong, Seoul, is a restaurant famous for dried pollack soup, fresh seafood dishes, and various pancakes. Its signature dish, dried pollack soup, has sold over 100,000 bowls annually, with a total of more than 1.5 million bowls sold to date.
The ‘dried pollack soup’ newly released by The Banchan& is an RMR product that faithfully reproduces the taste based on the know-how of the famous Hannam Bugeotguk. The highest quality dried pollack is roasted in sesame oil for a long time to enhance its nutty flavor, and a rich beef bone broth adds a deep taste.
The croaker pancake is made by carefully selecting domestic croaker weighing over 5 kg, cutting it into bite-sized pieces, and pan-frying it directly. It has a soft and savory texture, making it a delicacy, and is even more delicious when enjoyed with the included seasoned soy sauce accompanied by onions and chili peppers.
To replicate the taste of ‘Hannam Bugeotguk,’ The Banchan& developed the menu after receiving the store’s recipe over a long period. Moreover, all processes from ingredient preparation to manufacturing are done directly to allow customers to easily enjoy the authentic taste of the restaurant at home. The Banchan& follows the principle of delivering home-cooked quality by having about 30 chefs and over 100 cooks carefully prepare the dishes by hand at the DSCK Center, which is certified for food safety management (HACCP).
