[Breaking] Kim Jong Un Chairs Expanded Political Bureau Meeting... Discusses Preparation for 8th Party Congress
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Dong-pyo]North Korean leader Kim Jong-un presided over an expanded meeting of the Workers' Party Political Bureau and discussed preparations for the 8th Party Congress scheduled for January next year, according to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on the 30th.
At the meeting held at the Workers' Party headquarters building, they discussed "listening to the preparation status for the 8th Party Congress of the Workers' Party and establishing corresponding countermeasures."
They also deliberated on "strengthening the Party's historical work sector, thoroughly establishing the Party's leadership system in relevant organizations, and reorganizing the relevant departmental structures within the Party Central Committee to deepen policy guidance and Party guidance."
Furthermore, the agency reported that "they improved Party guidance on economic affairs and discussed, studied, and decided on important issues for the execution of urgent economic tasks as key agenda items."

The meeting was attended by standing members, members, and candidate members of the Party Political Bureau, along with senior officials from major Party departments and members of the preparation committee for the 8th Party Congress as observers.
