Jeonju Bibimbap Bread Supported by SK Innovation Cultivates Eco-Friendly Wheat and Barley Fields
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Soyeon] The social enterprise supported by SK Innovation, 'Cheonnyeon Nuri Jeonju Bread' (hereinafter Jeonju Bibim Bread), has started cultivating eco-friendly wheat and barley fields.
According to SK Innovation, Jeonju Bibim Bread has been directly farming wheat and barley on a 99,000㎡ field in collaboration with the Jeonju agricultural complex since October to preserve the rapidly disappearing domestic wheat and barley fields.
Approximately 1 kg of wheat is produced per 3.3㎡ unit in this wheat field. Through this, 2.5 kg of oxygen is emitted and 3 kg of carbon dioxide is absorbed.
Jeonju Bibim Bread plans to expand the farming area to 330,000㎡ next year, not only supplying clean oxygen but also contributing to job creation for farmers, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
