[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] A cluster infection has occurred at the Sangmudae military base in Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do.
According to Jeollanam-do on the 28th, as of 9 a.m. that day, 16 people in Jangseong-gun tested positive for COVID-19.
All are active-duty soldiers confirmed as contacts of Captain A from unit Jeonnam 395 (Jangseong 6), who was confirmed positive the previous day.
Captain A showed symptoms such as anosmia starting from the 23rd and was staying at Sangmudae for training.
Following the positive diagnosis the previous day, Jeollanam-do conducted a full investigation of about 300 people, including contacts within the military base and local residents.
