Sampyo Group, Social Contribution Activities Also 'Untact'
Environmental Art Education Camp 'Sampyo and Green Jigu' Conducted in Non-Face-to-Face Format
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] SAMPYO Group, a construction basic materials specialist company, is actively carrying out social contribution activities in a non-face-to-face (untact) manner despite the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
SAMPYO Group conducts an environmental art education camp called 'SAMPYO and GREEN Earth' every year for children and adolescents in educationally underserved areas.
This year, as the prolonged COVID-19 situation disrupted event hosting, the group switched to a non-face-to-face format and held a youth photography contest from the 26th of last month to the 13th of this month for elementary, middle, and high school students in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province, as well as out-of-school youth.
A total of 57 works were submitted to this contest, including 11 family category works and 46 general category works, with 20 final works selected as winners. The winning works will be showcased through an online photo exhibition, and gallery-type sculptures using the winning works will also be produced.
Earlier, on the 19th, the SAMPYO Volunteer Club visited the Jongam-dong Community Center in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, and delivered rice worth approximately 8 million KRW to low-income families in the area. Considering the safety of local residents and employees amid the spread of COVID-19, the SAMPYO Volunteer Club replaced the annual 'Love Sharing Volunteer' event held around the anniversary of the club's founding with a non-face-to-face, contactless delivery of rice to the community center.
In this way, SAMPYO Group is actively conducting non-face-to-face social contribution activities to stay connected with the local community despite COVID-19. The company recognizes that in difficult times, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and coexistence with community members are especially important.
