GIST-Kepco KDN, MOU for Workforce Development and Industry Advancement
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, Jiseuteu) announced on the 25th that it held a business agreement ceremony with KEPCO KDN on the 24th to foster high-level talent and promote advanced technology and industrial development.
The ceremony was attended by key officials including GIST President Kim Ki-seon and KEPCO KDN President Park Sung-chul.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ mutual personnel exchange to improve the quality of industry-academia cooperation education and research ▲ establishment of a cooperative system for education and joint research for the development and innovation of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) ▲ selection of scholarship students and commendation of outstanding students for fostering high-level talent ▲ and mutual cooperation on other matters of interest to both institutions.
KEPCO KDN plans to select outstanding students among GIST students to award scholarships and certificates, and provide employment opportunities through regular recruitment briefings.
GIST President Kim Ki-seon said, “Through this agreement with KEPCO KDN, which possesses advanced power ICT technology, we expect to create synergy in fostering talent through innovative education and joint research cooperation that will lead the growth of advanced technology development in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions.”
