[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is recruiting participants for the first half of 2021 Seoul Citizen Safety Jobs (public work) to provide livelihood stability and employment security for low-income groups, vulnerable employment groups, and unemployed people facing economic difficulties due to COVID-19.
This project will be conducted for about six months from January 11 to June 30, 2021.
The total number of recruits is 300 (248 general, 52 youth).
Eligibility requires Gwanak-gu residents aged 18 or older with work ability who are unemployed, daily workers without regular income, or those certified as homeless by administrative agencies. However, ▲ recipients of livelihood benefits under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act ▲ recipients of unemployment benefits ▲ households with income exceeding 65% of the median income standard ▲ those with combined family assets exceeding 200 million KRW are excluded from selection.
Working hours are 5 days a week, 3 to 5 hours per day (under 65 years old: 5 hours, 65 years or older: 3 hours), and various work benefits such as enrollment in the four major insurances, paid holidays, and weekly/monthly allowance payments are supported.
The recruitment period is 8 days from November 25 to December 2. Residents wishing to participate should bring their ID and a copy of their health insurance card and apply by visiting the community service center in their residential area.
Selected participants will be assigned to various departments of the district office and community service centers to perform tasks such as COVID-19 quarantine management, administrative support, and environmental maintenance.
The district office will review applicants' assets, income, and other eligibility information and announce the selected candidates on January 6, 2021.
