Kim Jong-in: "Securing the 3rd Disaster Relief Fund from the Main Budget Is Normal"
The Democratic Party advises against "taking reckless steps" amid moves to amend the Public Corruption Investigation Office Act
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Kim Jong-in, the Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, stated on the 24th regarding the '3rd Disaster Relief Fund' that "it is normal to secure the budget during the main budget process."
Chairman Kim met with reporters immediately after a luncheon hosted by the Seoul Foreign Correspondents' Club at the Korea Press Center and said, "The situation could be more difficult than when the 2nd Disaster Relief Fund was distributed," adding, "Eventually, the issue of the disaster relief fund will arise in January (next year)."
When asked whether the disaster relief fund budget could be secured at a reduced level, Chairman Kim said, "The budget can be increased."

Regarding the Democratic Party of Korea's move to amend the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Office (HCIO) law, Chairman Kim said, "It would be better not to take such reckless actions."
