'RSM Classic Champ' Robert Streb (USA) soared 264 spots in the world rankings. On the 23rd (Korean time), at the Seaside Course (Par 70, 7,005 yards) of Sea Island Resort in Georgia, USA, he secured victory after an extended playoff on the final day of the PGA Tour RSM Classic (total prize money $6.6 million), earning valuable points. This marks his first win in six years since 2014 (then the McGladrey Classic). It is interesting that he has won this tournament twice in total.
Streb fell outside the FedEx Cup (PO) rankings top 125 in the 2019/2020 season, but was fortunate to compete in the 2020/2021 season due to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The winner's prize money of $1,188,000 (?1.318 billion) and, most importantly, a two-year PGA Tour card are welcome rewards. He also secured entry to majors such as the Masters and the PGA Championship. He exclaimed, "What an amazing day," adding, "Especially receiving the Masters ticket is thrilling."
