'Jipkok! Yangcheon Creativity Contest' for the Whole Family to Participate Together Held
Participatory Online Event 'Build the Tallest Spaghetti Tower' with Family... Families with Elementary Students Living in Yangcheon-gu Can Join by Pre-registration... Awards for 3 Teams Building the Tallest Tower Using Only Spaghetti Noodles and Marshmallows
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] As COVID-19 has persisted for nearly a year, with an increasing number of students complaining of boredom and stress, Yangcheon-gu has prepared an opportunity for families to participate together at home and experience science.
Yangcheon-gu, which has held an offline science festival every year, decided to operate this year’s event as an interactive online event called "Stay Home! Yangcheon Creativity Competition," which families can enjoy together.
The Stay Home! Yangcheon Creativity Competition is a contest where teams build the tallest tower using only the given materials (spaghetti and marshmallows) within a set time (1 to 5 minutes).
Families cooperate creatively to build spaghetti towers, record videos, and upload them to the Naver Band. The three teams that build the tallest towers based on the uploaded videos will be selected and awarded.
Videos can be uploaded from December 3 to 8. Winners will be announced on December 11 through the YouTube channel "Stay Home! Yangcheon Creativity Competition," and certificates signed by the Yangcheon-gu mayor will be awarded.
Submitted videos will be posted on the YouTube channel during the event period.
All teams that participate by submitting videos and completing the survey will receive a science creativity kit, and an event will be held where participants who share photos or reviews of the event on their personal SNS accounts will be entered into a drawing to win prizes.
Fifty families with elementary school students residing in Yangcheon-gu can participate, and families wishing to join can apply on the Yangcheon-gu Office website from November 23 to November 27.
The participation fee is 3,000 KRW, and the materials needed for the event will be delivered to each household.
