On the morning of the 19th, Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Jang Seok-woong announced the "2021 Academic Year College Scholastic Ability Test Quarantine Measures" through a non-face-to-face press briefing.
Superintendent Jang stated that for the CSAT scheduled on the 3rd of next month, three base hospitals for confirmed cases and seven separate testing sites for quarantined students will be operated throughout Jeonnam to ensure the safety of examinees.
Additionally, from the 19th until the test ends on the 3rd of next month, a two-week special quarantine period for the CSAT will be designated, and an emergency response team will be activated.
On the test day, three base hospitals and ten hospital beds will be secured first for students confirmed with COVID-19, and if the number of confirmed examinees increases, additional beds will be arranged within the base hospitals.
Separate testing sites will also be prepared for quarantined examinees, with a total of seven testing sites and 21 testing rooms secured. These testing sites will be set up starting one week before the CSAT.
All examinees must wear masks on the test day to prevent infection and take the exam, and those exhibiting COVID-19 related symptoms such as coughing or fever will take the test in separate rooms. Examinees can enter the testing sites from 6:30 a.m. on the test day and must undergo temperature checks and symptom verification.
The Provincial Office of Education will operate a total of 53 testing site schools across seven testing districts in Jeonnam, adjusting the capacity per testing room from the previous 28 to 24 to ensure examinee safety. A total of 811 testing rooms, an increase of about 200 compared to last year, will be operated.
In particular, five additional quarantine officers will be appointed per testing site, increasing the number of headquarters staff and supervisors by about 700 compared to last year to create a safe testing environment.
Furthermore, all high schools will switch to remote classes one week before the CSAT to disinfect the testing site schools, and quarantine partitions will be installed on every examinee’s desk to block droplet infection.
Superintendent Jang Seok-woong appealed, "With the CSAT just around the corner, the recent spread of COVID-19 is reaching a crisis stage. We ask everyone to unite their strength and wisdom to establish quarantine and a safe testing environment with the urgent awareness that the future of our children depends on how we act in the remaining two weeks."
